Dads' Club

The Dads’ Club is a service organization open to all fathers or guardians of current and former Jesuit students who have a desire to assist and enhance Jesuit High School. The Dads’ Club supports Jesuit by providing parking attendants for athletic events, kitchen help for Homecoming and other social events, and manpower for school fundraisers. Revenue raised by the Dads’ Club is a major contributor to the financial aid program for Jesuit students.

The Dads’ Club also hosts several annual father/son service and social events, such as the Special Olympics, the Men for Others Dinner, popular golf and fishing outings, and Dads' Club Night with the Tampa Bay Lightning. The club's primary goal is to set positive leadership examples, and the club's commitment to service supports Jesuit's mission to produce graduates who are truly “Men for Others.”

Parking Events
Food, fun, and fellowship are the hallmarks of this committee. Revenue collected by filling Jesuit’s lots with cars during major sporting events and concerts at Raymond James Stadium is a major funds generator for the financial aid program at Jesuit High School. Dads who participate in this exciting way of giving back are at the heart of the Men for Others mission.

Chairs: Chris Galvis, P ’13 ’24 and Patrick Henry, P ’27

Gaudiosa
We provide the muscle and logistical support for Gaudiosa, Jesuit's major annual fundraising gala in late February. This includes loading and unloading cargo trucks and helping the Mothers’ Club set up the event. Gaudiosa features sensational auction items, fellowship, delicious dinner, dancing, and incredible generosity, with all Gaudiosa proceeds going toward Jesuit's financial aid program!

Chair: Michael Heald, P '26

Community Service
When COVID-19 hit, we knew that our boys may have very limited opportunities to fulfill their required service hours, and we would have very limited opportunities ourselves to serve. We reached out to Feeding Tampa Bay, a wonderful organization that serves thousands of meals to families-in-need every week at the main HCC campus near Jesuit High School. We asked if we could fill all 50 volunteer slots for one Saturday per month. The partnership continued for three years, and for 2023-24 the Dads' Club is working on new service partnerships - stay tuned!

Chair: Open
Time frame: TBD

Special Olympics
Jesuit High School has been involved with the Special Olympics since the school hosted the first ever Special Olympics in Florida on June 3, 1972. For decades, the Jesuit Dads' Club has been a driving force behind the Hillsborough County Special Olympics, and since 2016 the Dads' Club has hosted the annual Special Olympics here at Jesuit High School. This is a father-son service opportunity as well.

A Taste of Jesuit/Celebration of the Arts
There is incredible artistic talent among Jesuit High School students. Music, theater, drawing, painting, and sculpture are on display at this amazing event as parents, siblings, and extended family come to the campus to celebrate. We do the main set-up for the food portion of the event, setting up and breaking down tables and chairs. We also provide grilling services as requested at our Dads' Club tent.
