Nearly 400 Jesuit High School alumni in classes ending in 0, 1, 5, and 6 came home to Himes Ave. this weekend (May 21-23) for a wonderful Grand Reunion celebration.
The annual event started Friday with an elegant reception on campus that brought together all of the classes – every 5 years from 1961 through 2016, as well as those every five years from 1960 through 2015, whose reunion was cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic – for an enjoyable evening of revelry and nostalgia.
The Friday reception, which had more than 500 total guests, was held in the Student Commons and the cafeteria. The enthusiasm coursing through the event revealed the special bond between Jesuit alumni and their alma mater, and made for a memorable evening for all.
On Saturday, the respective classes gathered away from campus at various locales in the Tampa Bay area. Sunday brought everyone back to Jesuit for Mass with alumni and their families, followed by brunch. During Mass, the Classes of 1995 and '96 were presented with silver medallions, and the Classes of 1970 and '71 were awarded golden diplomas.
SAVE THE DATE: Grand Reunion 2022 will celebrate classes ending in '2' and '7' with the Class of 1997 (25 years) and Class of 1972 (50 years) receiving special recognition. It will take place May 20-22, 2022. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or to register.
