Fr. Angel Rivera-Fals, S.J. and Fr. Richard C. Hermes, S.J. celebrated Ash Wednesday Mass on Wednesday (February 17) in the Chapel of the Holy Cross at Jesuit High School, marking the beginning of Lent.
The school celebrated two Masses for Ash Wednesday, the first in the morning for half of the student body and the other in the afternoon for the other half.
The distribution of ashes – 46 days before the resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday – reminds us of our own mortality and calls us to repentance.
