Soccer

Jesuit is the winningest boys soccer program in Florida history. The Tigers captured the program's seventh State title in 2020 with a 5-4 win over Pembroke Pines Charter. The seven State crowns are the most of any Jesuit sport (tied with baseball), and are tied for third in Florida boys soccer history.

With State Semifinal appearances in 2022 and 2023, and State Final appearances in 2021 and 2024, the Tigers now have State record totals of 97 playoff victories (Region and State playoff wins) and 130 playoff games, the most of any boys soccer program in Florida annals.

Founded in the mid-1970s, Jesuit soccer was a force by the '80s. The seven State titles were earned in 1987, '95, '97, '98, '99, '01, and '20. Five times Jesuit has been State runner-up: 1988, 1996, 2000, 2021, 2024. Five of the State Championships ('95 through '01) came under head coach Bob Bauman, who was inducted into the Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) Hall of Fame in 2020. Bauman's 2001 team also was honored as National Champions.

Eric Sims '95, who starred on the '95 champs, was named the Class 5A Coach of the Year in 2020 and enters his 12th season at the helm of Tiger soccer in 2024-25. He has led Jesuit to the Region Final or better in each of his first 11 seasons. Jesuit soccer frequently has been nationally ranked in the Top 10, and the Tigers have captured the District title 40 of the past 43 seasons entering 2024-25.

Last season (2023-24), Jesuit won the Tampa Bay Invitational title for the 3rd time in 7 seasons with a 2-1 win over Tampa Prep. A few days later in a rematch with Tampa Prep, the Tigers came up just short of winning their 4th Tampa Bay Champions League title. Jesuit claimed its 6th straight Region crown and advanced to the State Final for the 3rd time in 5 seasons before falling to Panama City Arnold on penalty kicks and finishing 21-2-4.

Among the key returnees in 2024-25 are MF Keegan Clamp '25MF Dutch Iavarone '25, F Phillip Wiley '25, MF Evan Yockey '25, D Nick Smith '25, D Charles Dowman '26, and MF Luch DeGenova '26.
