Athletic Director - Terry Rupp '84

Terry Rupp '84 led Jesuit to the 1984 basketball State Championship and was drafted in the 16th round of the MLB Draft. He played professional baseball for two seasons and coached for three seasons in the minors before becoming baseball head coach at his alma mater, the University of Tampa, from 1996-2000, guiding the Spartans to the 1998 Division II National Championship. He was head coach at the University of Maryland from 2001-09 before taking over as Jesuit athletic director in 2009. He can be contacted at trupp@jesuittampa.org or (813) 877-5344, ext. 612.

 

Assistant Athletic Director - Denis Lopez

After serving as an assistant coach for multiple sports for several years at Jesuit, including football under head coach Matt Thompson and soccer under head coach Eric Sims, Denis Lopez joined the Jesuit athletic department in the summer of 2025 as assistant athletic director. Lopez was an officer for the Tampa Police Department for 20 years, and prior to that for seven years with the Chicago Police Department. From 2011-16 Lopez served as Athletic Director for the Tampa Police Athletic League, and he served in the U.S. Army for five years in the 1990s prior to becoming a police officer. 

Athletic Trainer - Andy Wood '92  

Andy Wood '92 begins as Jesuit's head athletic trainer for the 2025-26 school year. He has served the school in many capacities since returning to his alma mater in 2009-10, including as assistant athletic trainer, director of community service, and as track & field head coach since 2010, capturing 13 District titles in 16 seasons through the spring 2025 season. Wood is a 1997 graduate of Florida State University, and he worked with the athletic training staff at FSU, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and at Hillsborough High School prior to his return to Jesuit.
