AP Awards and Recognition
In the fall of 2023, College Board, which operates the Advanced Placement (AP) testing program, created new recognition honors for schools. Jesuit received College Board's highest recognition: AP Platinum with Access.
This outstanding recognition is the byproduct of a dedicated faculty and students, and years of growth and development of Jesuit's AP program. In AP exam testing in May 2023, Jesuit achieved an 84.1 pass rate, with 81 students receiving the highest individual level of recognition in AP testing: AP Scholar with Distinction. Such excellence helped Jesuit achieve AP Platinum status.
The AP Access status recognizes Jesuit for “the percent of AP exam takers who are underrepresented minorities or low-income, mirroring the demographics of the school. … proportional to or above the school’s student population, demonstrating a clear and effective commitment to equitable access to advanced coursework.”
This is reflected in the 30 Jesuit students who in the fall of 2023 received one of two special honors from College Board: the National African American Recognition Award (NAARA) and the National Hispanic Recognition Award (NHRA).
View below the names of the 81 Jesuit students who earned AP Scholar with Distinction honors this summer based on May 2023 AP testing, and below that are the names of the 30 current students who have received NAARA or NHRA recognition from College Board.
