Wednesday of Holy Week Mass

Wednesday of Holy Week Mass

Wednesday morning (March 27) in the Chapel of the Holy Cross, Jesuit school president Fr. Richard C. Hermes, S.J. celebrated a beautiful all-school Mass on Spy Wednesday of Holy Week. Fr. Joseph Carola, S.J. preached the homily.

The day before, on Tuesday of Holy Week, nine Jesuit students attended the Chrism Mass on Tuesday at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle in St. Petersburg, along with Father Carola and Jesuit teacher Mr. Peter Bell, S.J. Father Carola is a professor of patristics at the Gregorian University in Rome who is visiting Jesuit. At the Chrism Mass, celebrated by Bishop Gregory Parkes, the priests within the Diocese of St. Petersburg renewed their priestly promises, and the sacred oils used for the sacraments were blessed and consecrated, and then distributed to the parishes.

Wednesday was the last day of school before the Easter break. Classes resume at Jesuit on Tuesday (April 2). Have a safe weekend and joyous Easter!
