The Boys Are Back
Seniors and freshmen were on campus Monday as the 2015-16 school year closes in

The seniors and freshmen were the first to arrive on Jesuit High School’s campus Monday (Aug. 10) as the process of starting the 2015-16 school year gets underway. In four days, on Friday, the first full day of school commences.

Monday morning the seniors arrived at 8:00am to drop off forms, take portraits, pick up parking passes, and receive their Apple iPad Air, among other things. They also exchanged countless handshakes, hugs, and salutations as they caught up with their brothers from the Class of 2016 after summer break.

The freshmen arrived at 10:00am, wearing coat and tie for their portraits as they took the initial steps toward becoming Jesuit students and forming the Class of 2019. Admissions Director Steve Matesich ‘91, freshman counselor Jody Driscoll, and Director of Student Activities Mike Scicchitano ’01 addressed the class in St. Anthony’s Chapel on some of the nuts and bolts they’ll need to know as the newest students on campus, before dismissing them at lunch time.

Tuesday, the juniors (8:00am) and sophomores (10:00am) arrive to take care of their paperwork, portraits, iPads, etc.

Wednesday, the freshmen return for Freshman Orientation from 7:56am to 12:30pm. Wednesday night at 7:00pm is the iPad distribution makeup date.

Thursday, all students return for Schola Brevis, an abbreviated school day from 7:56am to Noon.

Friday’s first full school day for all students begins with an all-school Mass at 8:00am. All students must be in coat and tie for Mass.
