Five individual champions lead Jesuit wrestling to another District title
The Jesuit High School wrestling team won its eighth District title in the past nine years on Saturday (Feb. 28) at the Tiger Palace, easily outdistancing runner-up Gaither by 80 points.
In its first home meet in five years, Jesuit claimed five individual titles. R.C. Consuegra '15 (126 pounds), Adam Lewis '16 (145), Brian Buser '16 (170), and Nick Mosco '17 (220) all repeated as District champions. They were joined this year by Jonathan Shaw '15 (195).
Jarrett Roop '17 (113), Matt Daner '17 (120), Connor Mueller '15 (160), and Thomas Mooney '16 (182) all were District runners-up.
In the state's largest District (13 teams), Jesuit advanced 12 wrestlers to the Region Tournament. Also qualifying for the Region were Luke Surak '18 (3rd, 106), Angel Dominguez '18 (3rd, 138), and Dean Berninghaus '16 (4th, 152).
