Superior Sounds


Jesuit High School musicians, led by Jesuit’s music director Nina Wegmann, excelled this past weekend (Oct. 22) at the District Solo & Ensemble competition for stringed instruments and piano.

Competing at Barrington Middle School in Riverview in the District event sponsored by the Florida Orchestra Association, participants were judged Poor, Fair, Good, Excellent, Superior, and Superior with Distinction. All 14 Jesuit students who participated earned ratings of Excellent or better, and therefore qualified for the State Solo & Ensemble event in the spring.

Dansoh and Ralston received the Superior with Distinction rating for “Outstanding performance with no serious flaws and performed memorized.”
