The Jesuit Masque, under the direction of Richard Miller, excelled at District competition on Oct. 26, entering 15 events and earning a Superior rating (9) or Excellent rating (5) in 14 of 15!
A total of 17 Jesuit thespians earned one or more ratings of Superior: Austin Blewitt ’26 and Diego Garcia ’25 in duet acting; Robert Davis ’26 and Bryce Holeman ’27 in duet acting; Blewitt and Holeman in monologues; Garcia and David Miranda ’25 in duet musical; Blewitt and Miranda in solo musical; and Ma’Ckari Johnson ’26 in costume design.
Several Tigers also earned a Superior in ensemble acting: Andrew Cogburn ’28, Davis, Owen Durkee ’26, Javi Garcia ’28, Ian Higgins ’26, Holeman, Joseph Holst ’28, Jacob Khalil ’27, Andy Kozlowski ’25, Jullian Martinez ’27, Jacob McFarland ’27, Graham Wills ’26, and Luke Wills ’27.
The three Superiors achieved by Blewitt and Holeman, in all three events in which they participated, equals the best results ever by a Jesuit performer at District competition!
Receiving ratings of Excellent were Kozlowski in monologues; Khalil and Martinez in duet acting; Wills and Wills in duet acting; Garcia in solo musical; and Nicolas Bush ’25 in set design.
Jesuit's phenomenal stage performers are deep into rehearsals for the upcoming Masque Fall Production of "The Sting" on Nov. 21-23 (Thur-Sat.) in Shembekar Auditorium – come out and see the show! There will be a 7:00pm performance all three nights plus a 1:00pm matinee on Saturday.
