Superior On Stage

The Jesuit Masque, led by theatre director Richard Miller, earned eight ratings of Superior at the District 9 Thespian Festival this weekend at Riverview High School. It is the second most Superiors received at the District level in club history.

All who competed for Jesuit earned a rating of Excellent or better. The Superior ratings will advance to compete at the Florida State Thespian Festival from March 16-19 in Tampa.

Achieving Superior ratings at District and advancing to State are:

  • Colin Creadon '23, Andy Kozlowski '25, and Austin Blewitt '26 for Monologues
  • Creadon and Jackson Kiser '23 for Duet Acting
  • Shane Donnelly '23 and Aedan Gregory '24 for Duet Acting
  • James Slack '24 and David Miranda '25 for Duet Musical
  • Creadon, Anthony Donnelly '23, Shane Donnelly, and Kiser for Ensemble Acting
  • Diego Garcia '25, Kai Gibron '24, Gregory, Miranda, and Slack for Ensemble Acting

The ensemble scene featuring Garcia, Gibron, Gregory, Miranda, and Slack also earned Top Honors at District, which is the equivalent of a District Championship!

This marks the fifth consecutive year that the Masque has garnered at least one Top Honors award at District. Also, Blewitt is just the third Jesuit freshman to qualify for State in a solo event.
