Sunday Service: Agmen Christi

Sunday Service: Agmen Christi

A fun farm in Plant City provided the backdrop for a beautiful day Sunday (Nov. 1) for the Jesuit service club Agmen Christi.

Fifteen members of Agmen Christi connected with 22 local children in the Migrant Education Program, and together they experienced dozens of fun activities for several hours at the Fox Squirrel Corn Maze.

Jesuit has been connected to the east Hillsborough migrant community for many years, providing Christmas gifts for children annually and in recent years meeting with the migrant children for a day of fun during the fall. The Agmen members who participated Sunday were: Andre Botero '23, Dominic Castellano '21, Matt Dolan '23, Ryan Feocco '21, Grayson Gallagher '23, Nick Garcia '21, Dawson Kiser '21, Jackson Kiser '23, Charles Knost '23, Zachary Marquis '23, Nathanael Moore '22, Danny O'Leary '22, Zachary Reich '22, Danny Vargas '22, and Ryan Weir '21.

In addition to the corn maze, Fox Squirrel had dozens of other fun activities, includes hay rides and pony rides, pumpkin sling shots, slides, swings, goats and livestock, badminton, cornhole, arts and crafts, and more. Lunch was generously provided by Caspers Company and Blake Casper '91.

Agmen Christi has been very active this fall. The club traveled to Belle Glade the weekend of October 24 to serve that rural Everglades community, and every Sunday club members provide food for the homeless at Pinellas Hope in Clearwater.

Jesuit's director of community service Andy Wood '92, and migrant advocate Julie Snyder, P '16 arranged the connection between Agmen Christi and the migrant children on Sunday.
