School of Distinction

School of Distinction

Jessica Swere, the director of the southeast region for the global accrediting agency Cognia, visited Jesuit on February 1 and presented the school with Cognia's highest accreditation honor:

School of Distinction.

Speaking to the student body and faculty at Convocation, Swere encouraged Jesuit to celebrate the award. So the framed School of Distinction recognition was brought into classrooms across campus, where the teachers and students who earned it could share in the exceptional honor.

Every six years, Jesuit takes part in a rigorous, year-long accreditation with Cognia. Throughout the 2021-22 school year, led by assistant principal Debbie Pacheco, Jesuit engaged in the thorough accreditation process, which culminated Wednesday with the School of Distinction award. Fewer than 100 schools worldwide, from among more than 1,500 accredited in 2022, received such recognition.
