Football players Clark Bulleit '15 and Brendon Wamsley '15 earn prestigious honors

Jesuit High School’s Clark Bulleit ’15 and Brendon Wamsley ’15 were recognized by the Tampa Chapter of the National Football Foundation as Scholar-Athletes at a ceremony Thursday night (Feb. 12) at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Tampa.

Bulleit also took home the night’s top prize: He was chosen the NFF Tampa Chapter’s top Scholar-Athlete.

Bulleit earned a $1,500 scholarship award and the opportunity to earn the NFF’s National Scholar-Athlete Award, as the Tampa Chapter nominee to the Southeast Region.

Wamsley, who plays defensive end, anchored a defense that helped the Tigers advance to the Region Final this fall. He is planning to attend a military academy.

Bulleit, who signed to play football at Duke University last week, was named first-team All-County by the Tampa Tribune as an offensive lineman and is Jesuit’s student body president.

A total of 23 Hillsborough County football players were honored Thursday by the NFF for excellence in academics and football. Click here to learn more about the National Football Foundation.
