Jesuit wrestling places 7th out of 42 teams at the elite Prep Slam in Atlanta


Jesuit wrestling traveled to Atlanta again this Christmas break for the prestigious Prep Slam tournament on January 2-3, and the Tigers made their mark, claiming 7thplace out of 42 teams from around the country.

Adam Lewis ’16 and Brian Buser ’16 (who is pictured on the homepage at practice earlier this season) led the way with a pair of second-place finishes.

Lewis, competing at 138 pounds, and Buser (170) advanced to their respective championship matches. Also placing in the Top 6 for the Tigers were R.C. Consuegra ’15 (4th, 126 pounds), Nick Mosco ’17 (5th, 195), and Jarrett Roop ’17 (6th, 106).

Connor Mueller ’15 (152), Dean Berninghaus ’16 (145), and Grayson Fisher ’18 (132) all finished with a 3-2 record in the tournament.

Jesuit is currently ranked No. 3 in Florida in Class 2A in the scout.com rankings.

Next up for the Tigers is the Kowboy Invitational  Jan. 16-17 at Osceola High School in Kissimmee.
