The Spring 2019 edition of Jesuit High School's magazine, Perspectives, has arrived. Click here to read the electronic edition, and hard copies have been mailed to Jesuit families, alumni, and supporters and will hit mailboxes this week.
The main feature takes an in-depth look at Jesuit students' commitment to service as Men for Others, such as the Thanksgiving Basket Drive and Mission Drive; student initiatives with local charitable organizations in service to people in need; week-long summer service immersion mission trips to places such as South Dakota and Appalachia; and Jesuit's outstanding service clubs.
(On the homepage is Mr. Justin Kelley, n.S.J., a member of Jesuit's Class of 2014, pictured at Indian Creek Roman Catholic School in Belize. The school, which has been plagued by mold, was the beneficiary of Jesuit's 2019 Mission Drive.)
The 40-page issue has more than 100 photos and is filled with Jesuit information from the past several months. The Life on Himes section has news about Jesuit clubs, service, college acceptances, Celebration of the Arts, the Special Olympics at Jesuit, the "Three Musketeers" spring performance, the Men for Others Dinner, and more.
The Alumni News section has updates on more than 40 alumni, and Development News highlights 1899 Bequest Society member Steve Gillis '92 and the spectacular Saint John's Bible at Jesuit. The Sports section recaps the winter athletic seasons, including the wrestling team's school-record four individual State Champions. The very personal My Perspective piece is written by Jesuit's director of campus ministry, Andy Wood '92.
