The Winter 2019-20 edition of Jesuit High School's magazine, Perspectives, has arrived! Click here to read the electronic edition, and hard copies are being mailed this week to Jesuit families, alumni, and supporters.
The main feature takes an in-depth look at Jesuit's thriving student life via the more than 50 active clubs on campus. (On the homepage are Anthony Aspiro '23 and Javon Boykins '23 of the Environmental Club cleaning up Al Lopez Park.) Some clubs perform service, perhaps specific types of service. Some focus on passions or interests. Some support fundamental needs of the school. Some develop skills and enter competitions. Some raise awareness to important causes and create positive change. Some do several of these things or all of the above while fostering leadership opportunities. More than ever, Jesuit clubs are enhancing student life. Read all about it in this issue of Perspectives.
The 40-page issue has more than 120 photos and is filled with Jesuit information from the fall and winter of the 2019-20 school year. The Life on Himes section has stories about Jesuit's numerous academic achievements, including Class Achievement recipients and National Merit Semifinalists, as well as features about the record-setting Thanksgiving Basket Drive, Homecoming, and much more.
The Alumni News section has updates on more than 70 alumni, and Development News highlights 1899 Bequest Society member Jonas Roel '92. The sports section recaps two signing day ceremonies and all of the fall sports seasons. The introspective My Perspective piece on p. 39 piece is written by Director of Student Activities Carmelo LoSauro '10, who oversees Jesuit's 50+ clubs.
