Perspectives: Advancing the Curriculum

Perspectives: Advancing the Curriculum

The Fall 2019 edition of Jesuit High School's magazine, Perspectives, has arrived! Click here to read the electronic edition, and hard copies are being mailed to Jesuit families, alumni, and supporters and will hit mailboxes next week.

The main feature takes an in-depth look at the school's curriculum development in recent years. Jesuit has bolstered, enhanced, and upgraded its curriculum with opportunities such as Dual Enrollment classes in conjunction with Saint Louis University; vast Advanced Placement options; an array of electives geared toward optimizing the current student experience; implementation of technology in teaching, classrooms, and courses of study; increased class choices within each department; plus summer acceleration courses, virtual courses, and more.

The 48-page issue has more than 110 photos and is filled with Jesuit information from the end of the 2018-19 school year, this summer, and the beginning of the 2019-20 school year. The Life on Himes section has stories about Jesuit's numerous summer service immersion experiences, the Magis Pilgrimage to Europe, Graduation and Baccalaureate Mass, the school's phenomenal AP test results, and more.

The Alumni News section has updates on more than 80 alumni, and Development News highlights 1899 Bequest Society member Chris Leto '79. The Sports section recaps the Tigers' baseball State Championship, FHSAA All-Sports State Championship, and outstanding FHSAA Academic Team Champion results. The introspective My Perspective piece on p. 47 piece is written by AP Psychology teacher Bill Eggert '77.
