Open House 2022

Jesuit High School opened its campus Wednesday (Nov. 2) for Open House 2022, welcoming prospective students in the Class of 2027 and their families for a wonderful evening.

About 1,000 visitors walked Jesuit's beautiful 40-acre campus, and met the students, faculty, and staff of the institution that has been forming young men in the Tampa Bay area since 1899.

The evening began at 7:00pm at the heart of campus in the Chapel of the Holy Cross. School president Fr. Richard C. Hermes, S.J. addressed the gathering, as did students Brogan Spencer '23 and John Sumagang '26. (Click on their names to view video of their presentations.)

Then the prospective future Tigers – Open House is designed for students presently in 8th grade and their families – were divided into tour groups. Each group was led by two Jesuit students and they made 15 stops all across campus, from the Engineering and Robotics Lab to the Art Studio to the Daigle College Counseling Center in Gonzmart Hall to the Science Labs to Hyer Family Park to view a baseball scrimmage, and everywhere in between. 

The groups explored Jesuit and experienced the school from a student's perspective, taking in the array of academic and extracurricular opportunities, from the arts, athletics, campus ministry, and Jesuit's vast club offerings to staples of the curriculum such as foreign language, engineering, theology, math, social studies, science, and English.
