Men for Others Dinner 2026

Men for Others Dinner 2026

Several hundred Jesuit students and their fathers enjoyed a beautiful evening of fellowship, inspiration, reflection, and brotherhood at the 20th annual Men for Others Dinner on Sunday, March 8 at the TPepin Hospitality Centre.

The evening featured many great moments, including keynote speaker Rob Higgins '96, the University of South Florida's first CEO of Athletics; seniors Robert Bogle and Asher Koontz sharing heartfelt tributes to their fathers, Doug Bogle and Stephen Koontz; the Dads' Club presenting the school with a $575,000 check from parking proceeds for Raymond James Stadium events; and, for just the second time ever, two dads were recognized as the recipient of the Dads' Club's highest honor, the Songy Award: Duff Campbell, P '24 and Chris Galvis, P '13, '24.

Higgins closed the event with his engaging and inspiring address (click for video.) In 2025, Higgins became the first-ever CEO of Athletics at the University of South Florida, where he leads one of the

nation’s most dynamic collegiate sports programs. For more than two decades prior, Higgins was executive director of the Tampa Bay Sports Commission, where he helped bring major events like two Super Bowls, NCAA championships, Frozen Fours, and the NHL Stadium Series to the Tampa Bay area, elevating the community as a premier sports destination and reflecting his lifelong commitment to community, leadership, and service. He has been recognized with the Distinguished Citizen Award by USF and numerous other honors for his impact on Tampa Bay’s business and sports landscape. Higgins' Jesuit legacy includes his father, Jack Higgins, a 1967 graduate, and his son Landon Higgins, a 2024 graduate.

The more than 400 guests enjoyed a delicious dinner, during which Jeff Hahn '84, P '24  '24  '27, the Dads' Club president for 2025-26, and his fellow Dads' Club officers presented a $575,000 check to Jesuit's president, Fr. Vincent Giacabazi, S.J. The money, which goes toward Jesuit’s financial aid program, was raised by dozens of dedicated Dads’ Club members, under the direction of parking coordinator Michael Heald, P '26, throughout the course of the school year.

Hahn then presented the Dads’ Club’s highest honor, the Michael G. Songy “Men for Others” Award, to Campbell and Galvis. They earned the Songy for their “generous service to the school community that most closely models the characteristics of a true ‘Man for Others.’” For both Campbell and Galvis, their years of dedication in assisting numerous Dads' Club events has continued on past their sons' graduation. View below a listing of past Songy Award recipients.

The two student speakers, Bogle and Koontz, provided moving testimonials to their respective fathers that resonated with all of the fathers and sons in attendance. Click here for video of Bogle, and click here for video of Koontz.
