Mass of the Holy Spirit

In keeping with a Jesuit schools tradition dating back to the 16th century, Jesuit High School celebrated Mass of the Holy Spirit on Friday (Sept. 9).

The spiritual beginning of the new school year has been celebrated annually by Jesuit schools since 1548 in Messina, Sicily, at the first Jesuit school. Jesuit High School president Fr. Richard C. Hermes, S.J. was the celebrant of the all-school Mass of the Holy Spirit this year, which was delayed one week by Hurricane Hermine.
