Mass at Jesuit

Fr. Vincent Capuano, S.J. celebrated Bl. Francis Xavier Seelos, C.Ss.R. at Jesuit High School's all-school Mass on Wednesday (Oct. 5).

Fr. Seelos was a Redemptorist priest from Germany in the mid-1800s. He came to the U.S. in the 1840s and was based in Pittsburgh for nine years. Fr. Seelos later worked as a missionary in many states, including New Jersey, Connecticut, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Louisiana.

Pope John Paul II beatified Seelos in 2000.
