Jesuit Homecoming

Jesuit Homecoming

Jesuit High School capped off Homecoming Week with a rare Saturday (Oct. 19) football game, which featured a big victory for the Tigers, senior recognitions, and the halftime crowning of the Homecoming Court and Queen.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Milton, the game had been rescheduled from Friday night to Saturday morning. Before the game on the Corral Memorial Stadium field, the senior football players all were recognized along with their family members, as were the senior cheerleaders and band members.

The football game, Jesuit v. Brandon, kicked off at 10:00am, and the Tigers bolted to a 36-0 halftime lead en route to a 43-0 win behind four TD passes by Will Griffin '26, two TD receptions by Kaleb Smith '26, and a blocked punt by Tripp Keller '27 that Tyler Harper '27 recovered for a TD.

The Tigers are now 3-3 with three games remaining: at Hillsborough next Friday (Oct. 25), at TC (Nov. 1), and a hurricane-postponed makeup game v. Middleton (Nov. 7). The matchup with Hillsborough likely will determine the District Champion and a berth in the State playoffs.

There was one other football highlight during the week, as the JV team traveled to TC on Thursday and defeated the Crusaders, 31-7. Trent Decelles '27 had two rushing TDs, Sam Themar '27 and Jackson Holman '27 threw TD passes, and Kolt Ohlson '27 blocked a punt.

At halftime on Saturday, the Homecoming Court and Queen were announced. Ava Fernandez of the Academy of the Holy Names, who was accompanied by Ryan Thompson '25, was crowned Homecoming Queen by Jesuit interim president Mike Scicchitano

The other members of the Homecoming Court were: Lucy Gavin and Landon Parsons '25Mariana Guzman and Colin Shembekar '25Kiley Lester and Ayden Hewitt '25, and Siena Ramirez and Morty Hanlon '25.

Later Saturday, Homecoming culminated with the Homecoming Dance at the TPepin Hospitality Centre.
