Homecoming Fun Day

Homecoming Fun Day

Jesuit High School's Homecoming Week festivities were highlighted on Friday (October 18) by a phenomenal Homecoming Fun Day, as the students took a day off from classes to enjoy an array of games and activities all across campus.

A great byproduct of the annual Fun Day, which is coordinated by Mr. Corey Perich and Mr. Austin Freeman, is the fundraising: small fees associated with all of the activities, as well as food/drink sales, that are collected and put toward the Thanksgiving Basket Drive. Friday's fundraising generated more than $5,300 for this year's drive! The top fundraisers were:

1. The Environmental Club – $1,118
2. The Asian American Club – $768
3. Pickleball Tournament – $620

In the aftermath of Hurricane Milton, the Homecoming football game originally scheduled for Friday night was rescheduled for Saturday (October 19), though the food trucks have been cancelled. At 9:15am Saturday on the Corral Memorial Stadium field, the senior football players, along with the senior cheerleaders and band members, will be recognized. The football game, Jesuit v. Brandon, kicks off at 10:00am. At halftime, the Homecoming Court & Queen will be announced. Tickets can be purchased online here

Fun Day wrapped up at 12:30pm as everyone went to the Tiger Palace for the dodgeball championship match between the championship student team and a faculty team. Bolstered by some new additions such as counselor Rey Riveros '16 and Engineering teacher Kyle Fennesy, the faculty avenged a humiliating defeat last year with a dramatic, hard-fought win.

Other Fun Day winners included:

  • Aviation Club Flight Simulator Landing Challenge: 1. Carter Yarbrough '28, 2. Colin Jackson '28, 3. Thomas Hollenkamp '27
  • Super Smash Bros. Tournament: Ryan Burriesci '25
  • Masterminds Trivia: The student team of Rhys Marriot '27, Jake Judson '25, Rogan McLaughlin '26, and Graham Wills '26 defeated the faculty team, 315-150. The top-scoring student team was the Door Stoppers – Hendrix Bromberg '25, Ryan Rooth '25, Michael Galiani '25, and Gabe Louk '25.
  • Ping-Pong Tournament: 1. Colin Shembekar '25, 2. Nick Hadley '26, 3. Nick Deakin '25
  • Pickleball: Will Stanton '25 and Luke Stanton '28
  • Poker-No Limit Texas Hold 'Em: Harrison DeVito '26
  • Soccer: Get Out FC – Keegan Clamp '25, Matthew Jones '25, Brendan O'Connor '25, Ace Perez '25, Patrick Wiley '25, and Evan Yockey '25
  • Darts: Paul Ward '26 and Nick Couluris '26

Homecoming week closes later on Saturday after the football game with the Homecoming Dance at 8:00pm at the TPepin Hospitality Centre.
