Gifts For Others

Once again this December, the desire of Jesuit High School students to help others was joined together with the spirit of Christmas for the benefit of disadvantaged children.

The Jesuit service club Agmen Christi provided personalized Christmas gifts for dozens of migrant youths on a Sunday (Dec. 6) in Plant City. The annual occasion was modified this year due to COVID-19 into a drive-through event. (View a photo slideshow below.)

Agmen Christi members had received specific gift requests and provided a wrapped present for every request, bringing the gifts to Robinson Elementary in Plant City. Pictured left to right on the homepage photo are Phillip Falcon '23, club moderator David Mammola and his daughter Eva, Dawson Kiser '21, Ryan Weir '21, Ryan Feocco '21, Frankie Machado '21, Danny Vargas '22, Nathanael Moore '22, Lawson McLeod '22, Zachary Marquis '23, Zachary Reich '22, Jackson Kiser '23, and Matthew Dolan '23. Dawson Kiser, Vargas, and Weir all had participated in 2019 as well.

For about an hour, cars and trucks of families affiliated with the Migrant Education Program drove through the parking lot where many of their children attend school. Migrant advocate Julie Snyder, P '16, recently named a Finalist for Hillsborough County's Diversity Educator of the Year, helped coordinate the event, as the Jesuit students distributed the gifts to the excited children.
