The Freshman Retreat

The Freshman Retreat

Jesuit High School's Class of 2029 came together on campus Saturday, October 11 for the Freshman Retreat!

The annual Freedom & Brotherhood Retreat for Jesuit's freshman class is the introduction to the school's retreat program. Under the direction of the assistant principal for mission, Brian Greenfield, and campus ministers Patrick Phelan and Joseph Madigan, the program provides spiritual direction and guidance. Every student is obligated to make one retreat during each school year, with multiple retreat options annually as they progress to senior year.

The Freshman Retreat brought more than 200 students to campus at 1:00pm on Oct. 11 for an afternoon of fun activities, meaningful discussions, and reflection, supported by campus ministers, peer ministers, and the Jesuit Mission Corps.

Following evening Mass, the retreat concluded after sundown with the traditional candlelight Eucharistic Procession to the Bell Tower led by school president Fr. Vincent Giacabazi, S.J. It was a beautiful experience, with hundreds of freshman parents and family members lining the final part of the procession.
