Freshman Orientation

With an assist from 80 Big Brothers, the Class of 2019 is ready to go for 2015-16
One hundred and ninety six freshmen made the rounds at Jesuit High School on Wednesday morning (Aug. 12) during Freshman Orientation, the final preliminary steps before the start of the 2015-16 school year - and their first steps together as Jesuit brothers.
Thursday is Schola Brevis from 7:56am to 12:30pm, an abbreviated school day for all Jesuit students. Friday is the first full day of the school year, which begins with an all-school Mass and requires coat and tie.
On Wednesday, with a big assist from 80 “Big Brothers” in the senior class who were leading the freshmen, the Class of 2019 went through an array of orienting activities. It started by reporting to homeroom and then St. Anthony’s Chapel for Convocation, and included a welcome address from school president Fr. Richard C. Hermes, S.J. and principal Barry Neuburger, a walk-through of their entire class schedule with five minutes in each classroom, and then an eight-stop, guided campus tour led by the Big Brothers.
The day concluded back in St. Anthony’s Chapel with Mass, and the freshmen were dismissed at 12:30pm.
