For the Hungry

The Jesuit High School Key Club's 18th annual Putt-Putt Fundraiser was a big success on Jan. 14, as more than 100 participants had a great time at Grand Prix Tampa and helped raise $4,475.

The beneficiary of this year's Putt-Putt was Feeding Tampa Bay, which focuses on providing food to the hungry in a 10-county area of West Central Florida. Key Club also was involved with Feeding Tampa Bay last spring, when it collected hundreds of boxes of cereal as part of the 'Cereal for Summer' program that provided breakfast during summertime for local children who rely on school-provided meals.

The top sponsor of the Putt-Putt Fundraiser was McConnie Fence, and other leading sponsors were Gaylord, Merlin, Ludovici, and Diaz; Hartmann Architecture, Inc.; and WRH Realty Services, Inc.

Leading the event organizing and fundraising was Key Club president Justas Schillinger '17 along with club members Joe McGonnigal '18 (Key Club Lt. Gov. Florida District 14B), Kaiser Hartmann '17 (vice president), Gabriel Brown '17 (secretary), Michael Withers '17 (treasurer), Phillip Thompson '19, Spencer Wallace '17, Michael Lennartz '18, Kyle Erickson '17, Joe Edgar '17, and Brice Sewell '17.

Adding to the excitement of this year's Putt-Putt was a $100 value prize for the winning team, which was the quartet of Wallace, Sewell, Brown, and Blake Motzer '17. Lending an assist at the event were four members of the Key Club from Blake High School.
