Feeling Good

Jesuit High School football travels to Robinson High tonight in for a big District game at 7:30pm.
A victory puts the winner in great position in the District title race – the Tigers are 2-0, the Knights 1-0 in the five-team District – and Jesuit (7-0) is seeking its eighth straight victory overall to start the season.
The Tiger defense, led by end Zack Quilty ’16 (10 sacks, 3 blocked punts) and tackle Nick Leone ’16 (2 forced fumbles), has been sensational, forcing 19 turnovers and allowing an average of fewer than 8 points per game. Cornerback Travell Harris ’17 (2 interceptions, 2 fumble recoveries) has starred on defense and special teams, recording a kickoff return touchdown in each of the past two games.
On offense, the backfield combination of quarterback Danny Boon ’17 (11 passing TDs, 2 rushing TDs) and running back Malik Davis ’17 (835 rushing yards, 8.4 avg, 10 TDs) has accounted for 23 touchdowns, operating behind an offensive line anchored by Maddux Corish '16, Nick Battle '16, and Jake Moore ’17 that has led Jesuit to an average of 35 points a game. Rey Riveros ’16 paces a deep receiving corps – 14 different Tigers have caught a pass, and 7 have a receiving touchdown – with 18 receptions and 4 touchdowns.
Jesuit's final District game is next week, when the Tigers host Spoto at Corral Memorial Stadium. Jesuit closes the regular season Nov. 6 when it hosts rival Tampa Catholic.
