Father-Son Retreat

Father-Son Retreat

Some 25 Jesuit High School seniors and their fathers had the opportunity to enrich their relationships during the first Father-Son Retreat of the 2020-21 school year at the Bethany Center in Lutz on Aug. 28.

The Father-Son Retreat is filled with interactive personal experiences with each other and the larger group. Led by Jesuit's campus ministry department - director Jimmy Mitchell and assistants Matthew Kuizon '11 and Dan Angel, as well as theology teacher Brian Greenfield - it is highlighted by fun bonding activities, as well as more traditional retreat experiences such as Adoration/Confession, Mass, and a Walking Rosary.

The goal of this retreat is for fathers and sons to build in their relationship with each other as well as together in their relationship with the Lord. It provides many opportunities for fathers-sons to spend time together in meaningful conversation and prayer. Those 'father and son times' are guided by specific questions they ask each other.

The Father-Son Retreats for seniors are a few of the many different retreats at Jesuit each year that comprise the retreat program. All Jesuit students will participate in at least one retreat, and student peer ministers assist the campus ministry department at many retreats.
