The Jesuit speech and debate team competed with distinction Saturday (Jan. 16) in the Florida Gulf Coast Catholic Forensics League tournament at St. Petersburg High School, claiming two second place trophies and several other high placings.
The tandem of Evan Rabenold '16 and Paul Consalvo '16 earned 2nd place in Duo Dramatic Interpretation, and senior Alexander Fiore '16 also earned a runner-up finish, in Student Congress.
Also placing for Jesuit were William Clewis '16 (12th in Original Oratory) and Guilson Chua '19 (14th in Lincoln-Douglas Debate), and Jackson Moffett '16 and Gantt Meredith '16 took 10th place in Public Forum.
The Tigers next compete in the National Speech and Debate Association national qualifier at Wharton High School on Jan. 30.
Jesuit hosts the Florida Forensics League regional tournament on Feb. 6.
