Clubs Open House

Artists and engineers, foodies and car enthusiasts, future doctors and lawyers, environmentalists and thespians, songwriters and chessmasters, ethnic scholars and servant leaders, gamers and outdoorsmen, and many many more, swarmed Oliva Courtyard on Thursday (Aug. 20), exploring their passions and discovering new interests during Jesuit's annual Clubs Open House.

With more than 40 club stations set-up on site, each with upperclassmen club officers recruiting new members, the Jesuit students engaged the smorgasbord of options to pursue their extracurricular interests for this school year. (View all of the club and honor society options below.)

In front of the Chapel of the Holy Cross, along the walkway on the east end of Oliva Courtyard, Jesuit's thriving clubs scene was on full display. Student officers representing dozens of clubs solicited hundreds of fellow students, who signed on with their favorites and/or were persuaded to test new endeavors.

The 2022 Strategic Plan for Jesuit High School listed "Strengthening Student Life" as one of its three foundational priorities, affirming the commitment to providing a wealth of award-winning extracurricular opportunities in the four categories: Academic & Professional (e.g. Speech & Debate, Robotics, Pre-Med Club), Community Outreach (Environmental Club, Stars & Stripes, SADD), Special Interest (Outdoorsmen Society, Don't Feed The Artists, Handyman Club), and Cultural (African American, La Gente, Middle Eastern), plus six Honor Societies and the very popular club hockey team.

Via this vast array of enriching club offerings – many of which have been thriving for decades, others founded only recently via student interest – Jesuit students are developing their talents and leadership skills, and contributing to a vibrant student life.
