Career Day at Jesuit

Jesuit High School's juniors and seniors engaged in expert presentations from distinguished alumni and other accomplished professionals during the annual Career Day on Wednesday (Feb. 9).

A total of 25 presenters, including 20 alumni spanning a vast range of vocations, enriched the students throughout the morning in small-group sessions on campus. Every junior and senior participated in four 35-minute presentations, with 22 presentations in-person and the other three via Zoom.

The sessions included careers such as Dentistry (Dr. Matt DeDomenico '94), Engineering (Dale Southwick '64), Cardiology (Dr. Charlie Glover '98), Information Technology (Laura-Elizabeth Ware, P '25), Accounting (Michael Demare '98), Homeland Security (Matt Albence '88), Law (Jeff Del Rio '04 and Ryan Cappy '93), Financial Advising (Simeon Hill '15), and Politics (Jackie Toledo, P '25). Among the Zoom sessions was one in Music Production with 2021 alumnus Aidan Bissett, a student at the University of Southern California. Two days after Career Day, Bissett's newest single, "Grocery Store Girl," was released by Capitol Records. 

Also, alumnus John Simmons '72, the CEO of Growth Advisors, LLC, spoke at morning Convocation on Career Day about the influence of his Jesuit High School education on his career in business, and the process of finding your career. Simmons then engaged students in small-group sessions about his career as a CPA, CEO, and CFO.
