Career Day

Juniors and seniors engaged in expert presentations from distinguished alumni and other accomplished professionals during Jesuit High School's annual Career Day on Wednesday (Feb. 10).

A total of 25 presenters, including 22 alumni spanning a vast range of vocations, enriched the students throughout the morning in small-group sessions on campus. One presentation, on Architecture by Richard Brewer '08, was done entirely virtually. Every junior and senior participated in four 35-minute presentations.

The sessions included careers such as Banking (Henry Gonzalez '86 and Steve Stagg '86), Engineering (Jeff Hahn '84), Medicine (Dr. Lance Kane '89), Veterinary Medicine (Dr. Clay Dutton '05), Accounting (Andy Rey '77), Entrepreneurship (Parker Rabow '05), Cyber Security (Lisa Young, P '15), Law (Ryan Cappy '93), and Sales (Judd Hobgood '96, who is pictured on the homepage).

Also, alumnus Chris Whitney '01 spoke at morning Convocation on Wednesday about the influence of his Jesuit High School education, specifically how his desire to serve others in all aspects of his life has led to success. Whitney, who is CEO of Whitney Transport and a founder of the annual Tampa Pig Jig fundraiser, then engaged students in small-group sessions about Logistics.
