Jesuit High School football opened the State playoffs with a nine-touchdown explosion in a 64-12 win over Gibbs on Friday night (Nov. 11) at Corral Memorial Stadium.

The unbeaten Tigers (10-0), who are ranked No. 2 in Class 5A and No. 2 in the Tampa Bay area by Bright House Sports Network, advance to the Region Semifinal on Friday (Nov. 18), which will be a rematch against District rival Jefferson (8-3). Jesuit defeated Jefferson 44-23 in September.

Friday night, Malik Davis ’17 and Travell Harris ’17 scored three touchdowns each, continuing their sensational seasons. Davis (5 carries, 185 yards vs. Gibbs) now has 27 touchdowns this season, one shy of the school-record 28 he set last season.

Harris, who scored Friday on a punt return (pictured on the homepage, with blocks from Kendrick Torain '18 and A.J. Pinion '18), kickoff return, and rushing attempt from the Wildcat formation, now has 16 TDs on the season. Combined, Davis and Harris have 43 TDs in 10 games, and they each have scored in nine straight games.

Also getting in on the touchdown barrage was Larry Hodges ’19, who had two receiving TDs from quarterback Danny Boon ’17, and Alpha Jalloh ’18 capped the scoring with a 37-yard run. Camden Bauman ’17 was 8-for-8 on extra points, and the defense was led by end Anthony Nelson ’18, who was in the Gibbs backfield all night.
