Jesuit High School returned to school this morning (Jan. 4) for the start of the spring semester after the two-week break for Christmas.

Among the upcoming school events are two distinguished guest speakers at Convocation this week. On Tuesday (Jan. 5), Mr. Sean Salai, S.J., who taught at Jesuit from 2010-14, will discuss his upcoming book, “What Would Pope Francis Do? Bringing the Good News to People in Need.”

The book, which will be available in February, has several references to Mr. Salai’s time at Jesuit, including the exciting day in March 2013 when Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergolio, S.J. became Pope Francis, and the World Youth Day experience with Jesuit students and Pope Francis in Brazil that summer.

Friday (Jan. 8), Fr. Mitch Pacwa, S.J., a renowned television and radio host on Eternal Word Television Network and best-selling author, will address the student body in St. Anthony’s Chapel (following Adoration), in conjunction with the Jubliee Year of Mercy.

Please check the School Calendar and Athletic Calendar on the homepage of the website for other upcoming Jesuit events, including Wednesday’s Mothers’ Club meeting, Thursday’s College Financial Aid Night, and Friday’s basketball game at Tampa Catholic.
