Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply for membership in Jesuit’s Alumni Association?

The minute you graduate from Jesuit High School in Tampa, you automatically become a member of Jesuit’s Alumni Association.

Are there any annual membership dues?

Absolutely not. All Jesuit graduates are lifetime members, whether they participate actively or not.

How many alumni does Jesuit have?

According to our 2007/2008 database, Jesuit has had 7,252 graduates since its doors opened in 1899. Currently, Jesuit has 6,568 living alumni. We consider each and every one a member of our Alumni Association.

Prior to Jesuit’s move to its “new” Himes Avenue campus in 1956, the graduating class each year ranged from 20 to 40 students. As the school developed over the past 50 years, the class numbers increased significantly. For the past 20 years, an average of 141 students have graduated each year. (Classes have ranged between 109 and 162 graduates during that period.)

What is the purpose of the Alumni Association?

Jesuit’s Alumni Association is primarily social in nature. Through the Alumni Association, various opportunities are provided for Jesuit’s fellow alumni to reunite periodically throughout the year, from small social gatherings and alumni sporting picnics, to reunions and large special events.

Through these social activities, the Alumni Association celebrates the lives and the shared pasts of its alumni. It also pays tribute to alumni who have passed away with a special Alumni Memorial Mass, held each year near the Feast of All Souls day.

Does the Alumni Association offer service opportunities in support of the school?

Yes, for those who are seeking opportunities to give back to their alma mater, the Alumni Association takes an active role in supporting the school through three important fundraising and service efforts: the Fr. Hartnett S.J. Memorial Golf Classic, the Show Your Stripes Annual Giving Class Challenge, and the Gaudiosa gala dinner, dance and auction.

For more information on providing volunteer support for these events, please go to Ways the Association Supports Jesuit, or contact Alumni Director Nick Suszynski ’98 at 813.877.5344, ext. 256.
