Welcome to Jesuit High School!

We are very pleased that you are considering Jesuit High School and hope that you will apply.

Jesuit is a very special place. We are a very strong college prep school where all courses are taught at the college prep level and above. We require a curriculum that prepares our students for their educational experiences at the collegiate level. We also offer a significant number of honors and AP courses to challenge our most capable students. Our students are accepted to some of the finest colleges across the country, and we have a rich tradition of graduates continuing their education at service academies.

But we are much more than a college prep school. At Jesuit we strive to develop the entire individual – the spiritual, the academic and the physical. Our goal is to prepare you for life and beyond.

We are a Catholic school in the Jesuit tradition. We require theology classes, monthly Masses, retreats, service and reflection, but our non-Catholic students feel very comfortable in our setting. Our Community Service Program brings our students in contact with those in need throughout the Tampa Bay Area and beyond. Our graduates continue helping others through service during college and during the rest of their lives.

We are known for our strong athletic program that produces top teams in eleven different FHSAA sports and two club sports. However, our young men are student-athletes. They cannot participate if their academics and discipline are not in order. We strive for a balance that will help our young men learn the importance of setting goals, placing others before themselves, and managing a wide range of responsibilities. Our goal is that they become men for others who do things for the greater glory of God.

We also address the needs and interests of our students through strong programs in music, chorus and art as well as extracurricular activities that include intramurals, drama, debate and three different student publications.

Jesuit is a total experience where young men form a bond for life with their classmates, teachers and fellow alumni based on shared experiences in the classroom, in service, on teams and in extracurricular activities. It is based on a tradition that goes back more than 450 years to the first schools founded by the Society of Jesus – the Jesuits. Graduating from Jesuit High School in Tampa makes a young man a member of a special group comprised of the graduates of the 51 Jesuit high schools and 28 Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States alone.
