Lacrosse at Jesuit

Lacrosse at Jesuit

The Jesuit Lacrosse Club fields units at the Varsity and Junior Varsity levels.  They compete against other high school clubs and teams including FishHawk, Clearwater, Freedom, Plant, St. Pete and Wesley Chapel.  Lacrosse is a centuries-old physical game that requires balance, quickness and strength.

The game of Lacrosse has roots in the early history of the Jesuits in North America. Originated by the North American Huron Indians, the evolution of the game into modern lacrosse began in 1636 when Jesuit missionary Jean de Brebeuf, S.J. fine-tuned and adapted the activity for French pioneers in Canada.
