KEY CLUB NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

-- MEALS ON WHEELS SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
Visit the organization's website for volunteer information.

-- PUTT-PUTT FUNDRAISER FOR "SECRET SERVICE"
Feb. 26, 2011, Grand Prix Raceway. This year, Key Club's big service project will benefit needy children of Puerto Maldonado, Peru who are served by Deacon Orlando Castillo '00. Orlando and his brother Jorge approached Key Club seeking funding for services for at-risk children in Peru and we agreed to help.  But it's a SECRET! We will never meet these children, and they will never meet us. We feel we must serve those who need us, but who will never know us. Please support Key Club's annual Putt-Putt Tournament fundraising event on Feb. 26th at Grand Prix Raceway from 10 a.m. - noon. $15 per player. Pre-register by Feb. 25th, or register day of the event.  Event Sponsorships needed!  Player Registration.  Sponsor Form.

-- MANDATORY WEEKLY KEY CLUB MEETINGS
Wednesdays, Multi-purpose Room, 7:30 a.m.
All Key Club members are expected to attend weekly meetings and must perform a minimum of 5 community service hours per month (September through May). Please arrive before 7:30 a.m. so you are there for the entire meeting. Contact Zack Slagle at home if you will miss a meeting, except for illness. Chronic absenteeism or tardiness may be grounds for removal from the club.
NOTE: If you must miss a meeting because of a teacher meeting, review session or make-up test, let Mrs. Charette know on Tuesday with a note under her door.  Academics always come first at Jesuit!

-- ANNUAL PROJECT TO BENEFIT NEEDY TEENS IN PERU
This year, Jesuit's Key Club will support Br. Jose Maria (formerly Orlando Castillo '00) who serves in a small missionary community among the poor in Peru. Br. Jose Maria will visit Jesuit in January to show the film, "The Calling," that includes segments about his life. The presentation will kick off the annual Key Club
Putt-Putt Tournament fundraiser, which will donate this year's proceeds to enable the teens of Brother's missionary community to attend the World Youth Day in Spain in August of 2011. Check back for more details.
