Intramurals

One of the goals of Jesuit education is emphasize the student’s complete developmental growth. Jesuit’s intramural sports program provides all students with an outlet to participate in some form of athletic activities.

Throughout the school year, Jesuit students regularly participate in a structured intramural program. Intramurals are organized by the homerooms and consist of

Basketball
Football
Soccer
Softball

In addition to physical activity, the intramural program encourages healthy competition amongst the students for homeroom bragging rights, fun, and the “all-important” end-of-the-year homeroom championship t-shirts!

Friendly Competition: The intramural program is an important part of the Jesuit experience in helping to develop characteristics such as leadership, teamwork, and cooperation. The program also helps to build a bond of brotherhood, a vital component in the development of our young men. In the spirit of fairness, those students who are members of a varsity or junior varsity sports team are assigned to intramural teams in another sport. For example, a member of the football team would not be participating in intramural football. Instead, he might be assigned to play basketball or soccer.

Although students are not required to participate in the actual playing of the intramural sports, most do, and those who are not active on the field are usually cheering their classmates on from the sidelines.
