Janet Blackburn
Assistant Principal for Academics
Mrs. Blackburn has been Assistant Principal for Academics since 1999. She is responsible for defining and overseeing the school’s academic curriculum. She works closely with the school’s faculty in developing and maintaining high academic standards for the courses offered, as well as managing all student academic data and performance reports. Mrs. Blackburn works closely with the director of admissions and the registrar during the admission evaluation process.
Prior to her position as Assistant Principal for Academics, Mrs. Blackburn served the school since 1975 as a science teacher and was the science department head for 14 years. During this period, she also taught Alegebra I for four years and Humanities for three years in the late 1970s. Mrs. Blackburn holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and a Master’s of Science degree from the State University of New York at Albany. She is the mother of Jesuit alumni, Jeremy Blackburn ’98 and Bryan Blackburn ’00.
