Freshman Year Curriculum: 7 Credits Required
Note: All students must take three years of the same Foreign Language regardless of the level taken in freshman year. All students, including those taking algebra as freshmen, have the potential to be placed into a calculus course as a senior. Placement is dependent on classroom performance.
- Introduction to Catholicism/Counseling 1, required (1 credit)
- English 1, required (1 credit)
- Global Studies, required (1/2 credit) and Speech, required (1/2 credit)
- Foreign Language 1, required (1 credit)
Choice of French, Latin or Spanish
- Biology (1 credit)
- Algebra 1, required (1 credit)
- Personal Fitness (1/2 credit) and Health (1/2 credit) OR
Beginning Music (1 credit) OR Music* (1/2 credit) and Health (1/2 credit)
PLEASE NOTE: Freshmen must choose a combination of Physical Education and or Music courses to total the required one credit. * Half credit music choices include: Intermediate Music, Advanced Music, Percussion Ensemble, Chamber Ensemble, or Intermediate or Advanced Chorus. All ½ credit Music courses meet on alternate days for two semesters and auditions are required. Personal Fitness and Health ½ credit classes meet daily for one semester.
