Jesuit is a school that will change you life.

A Jesuit school is unique because it builds a bond of brotherhood among those who share its experience. Jesuit is a school that will change your life. Pursuit of complete developmental growth is one of the most important distinguishing characteristics of a Jesuit school. It is one reason why a diploma from a Jesuit high school means so much.

While the academic program emphasizes preparation for college, preparation for life is also an integral part of a Jesuit education. Intellectual curiosity, integrity, self-expression, discipline, responsibility for one’s actions, and social and spiritual consciousness are encouraged. Each student is held to the highest standards of performance and integrity – each has been encouraged to be a leader. Jesuit students strive to excel in all they do, not simply for personal gain, but because they want to be better prepared to be men who are engaged in the world – men who live full, productive lives, men who are spiritual and reflective, and serve their community. Students are also encouraged to reflect upon their place in God’s creation and the goal of doing all, according to the Society of Jesus’ motto, ad majorem Dei gloriam (for the greater glory of God).

As a Catholic school under the direction of the Society of Jesus, Jesuit High School of Tampa requires all students to study Catholic theology and to participate in various religious functions such as student Masses and retreats. The school does not proselytize, but encourages each student to grow in his own religion and personal faith.
